From the Do's and Don'ts of Website Design, the 6th rule of the
Do's is to ensure that clickable elements are obvious and easily
readable. This
The process of creating a story is a bit more structured than one might expect. Every story has a beginning, middle, and end, with elements of tension and suspense placed in-between. These are elements that storytelling has in common with design. They're researched as well as planned ahead of time. Stories are formatted in a way for viewers to easily understand. Projects would ideally be formatted similarly so that the team behind said project can truly understand what they're creating as well as the audience they're designing for. The more that people can understand what a design is, the stronger the design's reach will have. When projects are framed in a story format, it can help the team centralize around the specific theme of a design. A clear goal and purpose will be properly communicated between each team member, therefore creating a stronger and more seamless work flow. When storytelling and design are synchronized together for a project, it can help invoke emotion and meaning from the users. In a strong sense, storytelling and design go together like peanut butter and jelly.
Hierarchy is the process of getting users to look where you want them to look, when you want them to look. In other words, place emphasis on the most important elements of your design, either through the use of color, weight, size, style, etc.
Here is a fantastic use of hierarchy in a design. Elements of style, scale, color, and weight are brillantly implemented to place emphasis on the design's most important attributes.

Problem | I want to create a website portfolio that shows off all of my designs and projects I've created while enrolled at UT Dallas. |
Audience | My audience will be towards employers who work in the design industry, specifically in relation to animation and drawing. It will also be directed towards users who are either interested in design or are having second thoughts about it. |
Competition | My primary competition will be towards other designers and artists. There's the chance that several of them have more designs to offer
on their portfolio, so it's important that I'm able to create a website that's both appealing and enticing for potential users. |
Key Messages | The key messages of my website will be to demonstrate how much the artistic medium has to offer as well as the skill I can offer to the medium. |
Call to Action | My call to action will be for users to think about how much their artistic skills can improve if they persevere and work hard through viewing my website. |
How to Measure Success | When it comes to my website portfolio, my goal is to have a plethora of users interacting with my website with realistic expectations in mind.
I'll be sure to have a reasonable deadline in mind for my portfolio and give myself enough time to work on it |
